My First NYFW!

Hi there!
This past weekend I got to go to my first fashion show in NY! I was so excited!!!

Until I got there...

I'm not going to go into too much detail because I would like to be able to attend a show in the future LOL!

But I will say this - I requested VIP tickets and was told my request was granted. We arranged a last minute trip to NYC to enjoy VIP viewing at our first NYFW show. I had to arrange for help with my kids and ordered all new clothes (and paid $37 in shipping to guarantee they'd arrive in time because that's how last-minute the trip was!) so I could look extra special for what I thought was going to be a special event. But...
VIP for this show was NOT VIP. We ended up leaving because there was no way we would have been able to see the show from where we were told to wait.
I did end up getting to see a few minutes of the show by standing in a place I just wandered into without permission. We'd already called an Uber to pick us up by the time I found this spot, so I couldn't stay much longer. But I'm glad I got to catch a little bit of the show!

Teka's details
So, the fashion show was a bust. BUT, we still managed to have some fun in NYC!

I went to NY with my Sister-In-Law, Teka. We spent Saturday afternoon before the show shopping for an outfit for her to wear to the show. We hit up H&M, Sephora, Aritza, Free People and Zara. I bought my first-ever top at Zara and can't wait to wear it!
I was a bit tipsy in the hotel lounge
After the show, we had drinks at the hotel and then hit up The Museum of Sex!
I've always wanted to go there!
It was small and there really wasn't much to see.  But it was still fun to go and look around. And I wrote the penis bicycle! Hard! LOL! But I won't go back.  Not worth the admission really.
Then we met up with my cousin Tamara for dinner at a restaurant called Beauty and Essex. We couldn't get  a reservation until 11pm! We ended up eating right around midnight. They offer girls free champagne in the bathroom! So, we went to the bathroom twice.

Sunday, we got a late start, despite setting an early alarm.  That's what happens with you go to bed at 3am, right?  It was raining so we didn't want to do much walking around outdoors.
We took an Uber to Chelsea Market, just walked around and ate tacos and mini donuts from the Dohnuttery, which were DELICIOUS!!!
They tasted like funnel cakes! So good!
Listen - a weekend in NY is still a weekend in NY! Even if it didn't go as planned, it was still a good time! And I'm really grateful that my husband was excited for me to go and also SUPER grateful for my great friend Kellie and my Mommy and Daddy who came by to help my husband with the kids while I was gone. THANK YOU GUYS SO SO SO MUCH!!!
We managed to snag a seat at the bar fairly quickly at Jacob's Pickles!

I'm hoping to go back to NYFW in September. And hopefully it will be a better experience! But hey - we tried!!! And I got to sleep from 3am to 10am, with no interruptions!  WINNING!!!

Until next time!

Working Out with One Love One Tribe Apparel

The clothing was sent to me for review, but all opinions are my own.

Hi there!
New year, new me, right??? No. I'm kidding. I'm still the same old me! BUT - I could stand to drop a few pounds and I know this. So...I've started going to the gym. Not consistently, but in all honesty, I hadn't been to the gym since 2012 so the fact that I've been 5 times in the last month I'd say is a major accomplishment for me LOL!

Going to the gym is just not me. I have to sweat. It messes up my hair. Workout clothes are not cute. Wait - scratch that.  My workout clothes ARE CUTE!!!
One Love One Tribe provided me with these seriously cool flare yoga pants and cute tops to wear for my workouts and I LOVE them!!! They are super comfortable, lightweight, and the patterns are really fun!
One more thing - they are reversible. Each piece provides 2 very different looks!
And one more thing - many pieces go up to a size 3X!!! A HUGE draw for me as a plus size woman.

And one MORE thing - they are made from recycled water bottles!!! Seriously. Cute AND good for the environment!!!

You have to read about Bobbie, the owner, and her history of philanthropy and how she is using her fun, fashionable active wear to help the world.
Here I'm wearing the Vintage Blue Hawaii Bell Bottoms.  I love them!  I'm a big bell bottom/flare lover, so this cut is just my style. I also love that they have a super high waist!!! So I wasn't at all uncomfortable wearing them with the coordinating Sports Bra. I've already worn these to the gym twice! Not a fan of bell bottoms? No worries! They sell leggings too! And also hoodies, shorts and other accessories!
Here I'm wearing the Buns of Steal off the Shoulder Long Top and coordinating Sports Bra. I LOVED this top!
I wish I had more photos of myself actually working out in the clothes, but after I took this shot, I was told I couldn't take any more photos in the gym.

Overall, I'm a fan and I totally recommend this brand - for workouts or just plain looking cute in your casual wear! Please check them out at OneLoveOneTribe.com and know that your dollars are going to a good cause!

Until next time,

xoxo

Valentine's Day with Teresa Dalbera Photography

All photos are by Teresa Dalbera Photography

Hi there!
It's no surprise that I love photoshoots. I love getting dressed up, doing hair and makeup and posing - it's just FUN!!! No, I'm not a model nor have I ever modeled. I'm far too short and chubby for that. I just do it for fun. And Teresa Dalbera is my favorite photographer!!! You need to book her for anything you do. I'm not joking. She's the absolute greatest!

OK - on to the outfit.
Valentine's Day is coming up and hopefully all you mamas will be getting out for a night on the town with your hubbbies. I just wanted to share with you what I'm going to wear for my night out with my husband. Last year we didn't get a Valentine's Day date because our #1 got strep throat that day and had a 104 fever *sad face*. Fingers crossed no one gets sick this year!!!
For you plus size ladies out there, if you're not familiar with Eloquii, you should check it out. I love Eloquii for fun, fashion forward pieces like this gorgeous top
ELOQUII Plus Size Flounce Sleeve Off the Shoulder Top

I haven't worn an off-the-shoulder top in...pretty much ever. But I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did!  It's GORGEOUS and perfect for a date night!
I decided to pair it with red jeans for Valentine's Day!

These red jeans are from Torrid. I almost always size down in jeans because most brands because they have so much stretch and will eventually start sagging in the crotch, which drives me fricking crazy! I wear a size 12 in jeans from Torrid, Forever 21, and Old Navy. Which is seriously good for my self-esteem LOL!

Nude heels, because I just wasn't ready for white shoes in this messy weather.
These jeans and top are currently on sale! Because almost everything I buy is on sale LOL! Use the links above to buy them!
Until next time!

SoCozy Boing Line Review and Sweepstakes! Win a trip valued at $10,000!!!

These products were sent to me for review but all opinions are my own.

Hi there!
I have 3 kids with SUPER curly hair!  I'm always trying new products on them.

SoCozy sent me their Boing Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Spray to test, and honestly, I'm OBSESSED!

I already have one SoCozy product on hand - the Boo Spray.  I bought this when there was a lice outbreak at my kid's preschool. My kids have thick curly hair and if they got lice...can you even imagine how hard it would be to kill them?!??!  I didn't want to have to shave their heads to I started spraying them regularly with this spray.

When it comes to shampoo, I'm not picky.  As long as it smells ok and lathers enough for me to feel like it got the hair clean, I'm happy.  But when it comes to conditioner, I take it seriously!  Curly-haired kids can be so hard to manage - even the slightest tangles causes so many tears!!! So I need a seriously moisturizing and detangling conditioner. The Boing Line DELIVERS!!!
My daughter after the Boing Shampoo
After using the Boing Conditioner, the tangles fell out of her hair easily while brushing. That's so important.  This girl is full of drama - one too-hard tug and she's reduced to tears. She didn't cry once while I was detangling her hair after conditioning (I don't detangle with conditioner in because it's just too messy).
I tested the Boing Leave-In Spray the next morning while getting them ready for school. I just sprayed their hair until it was damp, but not totally saturated and then wet the brush a little. It brought all of their curls back to life so quickly and kept them smooth all day. And I can't even express in words how GOOD THIS SMELLS!!!!  The Sweet Pea scent is HEAVENLY!
My #3 Before
My #3 After
 My #1 Before and After
My #2 Before
My #2 After
I TOTALLY recommend these SoCozy Boing products and will for sure be buying the again!

Glam or Slam - The Lip Pencil by BITE

Hi there!

Influenster sent me the new Lip Pencil by BITE Beauty and I just want to share my thoughts on them really quick.

I received the new Lip Pencil in two colors -
020 - Beige Nude
044 - Rick Mahogany

I also received matching Amuse Bouche lipsticks in the color Honeycomb (nude) and Whiskey (dark burgundy.

I'll keep it simple - I like them!

The lip pencils are creamy, apply really smoothly, have great color payoff and don't leave my lips feeling dry.

I honestly felt after applying the liner that I could just apply a little clear gloss over it and be set - the color payoff is that good.

But I went ahead and layers the corresponding lip colors over each and LOVE the results.
This is 020 Lip Pencil with Honeycomb
This is 044 Lip Pencil with Whiskey
And this is 044 Lip Pencil with Whiskey and then
Honeycomb applied on top to tame the color a bit
I'd say the 3rd combination is my favorite.  Remember - you can always mix and match your lip colors to come up with new colors!  Don't feel like you're stuck with that's in the tube!!!

Anyway - I give these pencils a GLAM!  Check them out!

Until next time!

xoxo
