Hi there!
I just turned 37 last week. I've said it before - I work pretty hard at not looking and acting my age. You know most of my clothes come from Forever 21. Well, I'm trying to be eternally FOREVER 21!!! I don't want to get old! Not that 37 is that old, but you know...
So in the last few months I've started to take more interest in anti-aging products. I've been using a micro-needling roller and serum at night to avoid wrinkles, using eye cream, removing my makeup at night time more consistently (I have a bad habit of falling asleep with it on!), I've even used a so-called anti-aging cream for my hair!!! Not kidding. So of course I'm willing to try an anti-aging face wash.
Exuviance sent me their Purifying Cleansing Gel to test out and, just like any new product, I was very happy to try it!
In researching the brand, I learned that the founders of this skincare line, Dr. Van Scott Dr. Yu, are also the inventors of the Glycolic Peel (a chemical peel where the acid breaks down the top few layers of skin to reveal fresh, radiant skin beneath.) They offer a large array of products ranging from day to night, peels and masks, even makeup.
This particular product is a soap free, anti-aging foaming cleanser "formulated with Alpha and Polyhydroxy Acids to sooth and improve the skin’s texture."
This Purifying Cleanser is supposed to deep clean to remove makeup and other impurities. It is soap-free, which means it's not drying. And it's meant to smooth and improve texture for all skin types.
I tried this product after a long day having worn a full face of makeup. It's a nice cool gel with an AWESOME lather! I was honestly a little worried that this product wouldn't remove my makeup completely so just in case I used a makeup wipe first to be sure. That was completely unnecessary. This stuff is thick and lathered so much that I had no reason to worry.
It's very smooth - there are no micro beads for exfoliation which I've found all the other anti-aging washes I've used have. They aren't needed - the AHA and PHA in the gel take care of that. I'm honestly used to the little beads, but it's cool this formula doesn't need them.
Even with it's thick later, the product rinsed off easily. And my skin was clean and felt fresh.
It's meant to be used day and night. I'm the WORST with washing my face at night, but I'm working on it. After I tested this product, I stuck it right in my shower to use in the morning. I really liked it!
Here's the kicker - it sounds a bit pricey at $34. BUT It's a REALLY BIG PRODUCT! It's 7.2 ounces and you don't need much to get a good lather! So I'm sure it will last for a while. Don't let the price tag scare you. Also! If you check their site, they are offering a free full size product with a purchase of $75 or more! So you can get more for your money.
Just know that even thought I #gotitfree, I honestly liked the cleanser. The $34 price tag is a little bit of a turn off at first, but seeing how big the product is and how little you need for each wash, I think price-per-use makes it pretty easily worth it.
Until next time,
xoxo
I might have to try it!
