Hi there!

I want to introduce you to my next Street Style Feature, Sharon Rosa!

I met Sharon back in 2011. She needed a makeup artist for her wedding, and I was happy to take on the job! Since then, she's given birth to absolutely adorable boy-girl TWINS!!! Twins can NOT be a walk in the park, but every time I see photos of this mama, she looks so gorge! I love her fun short haircut, and let's not even talk about her body. Holy jeez. This girl is in shape! She looks so so so good all the time I just needed to feature her! She says she's not glam, but I totally disagree! Ha! I'm glad she filled out the questionnaire anyway. Aurorae Aqua Towel Review and GIVEAWAY!

This product was sent to me for review by AuroraeYoga.com

Hi there,

AuroraeAqua reached out to me and asked me to give one of their Sport and Swim microfiber towels a try.  "What does a towel have to do with a mommy blog," you ask???  Ummm, everything!!! At least for me!

You know what sucks?  My house, as new and awesome as it is, did not come with a linen closet!!! Can you believe that? I didn't even notice it until after we moved in and I was unpacking and had no place to put my linens. So, my temporary (well, maybe not so temporary because it's been over 1.5 years and I'm still using it) was a little $50 cabinet I bought at Target and assembled myself.  And in all honestly, it's small and regular towels don't even fit on a shelf if folded normally! And, forget closing it.  It looks so stupid, but I haven't found a better solution for storage yet, so that's why I've lived with it for so long. Big, plush, comfy bath towels take up a LOT of space in my little cabinet. So, sure I'll try a thinner towel that's supposed to have the same kind of absorbency as a regular towel!

And then there's bath time. It's ridic. It's basically a tsunami in my bathroom. Every. Single. Time. We soak through a  LOT of towels weekly. So annoying!!!

Aurorae Aqua is a recently launched new division of Aurorae Yoga. These new Sport and Swim towels they are offering are made of microfiber material, are oversized and supposed to be ultra-absorbent.  It's offered in 8 different colors and are great for use at the beach, pool or home.  I obviously used mine at home, and I tried it out a few times before I was ready to write this post.
Things I like about the towel -
  • It is definitely oversized!  I hate a towel that I can't wrap around my whole body after I bathe.  This one is really large (32"x68").  It could even be used as a blanket!  Definitely a plus!
  • It is THIN!!! Like I said above, my little makeshift linen cabinet is tight on space.  This towel folds up super compact. It would definitely be super easy to carry back and forth to the beach or pool.  It takes up so little space!
  • It dries pretty fast! I tried it on myself after a shower and then checked back after an hour and it was practically dry! I also used it on ALL 3 of my kids after bath time (like I dried them all with the same towel after the same bath), checked back after an hour, and all but one spot was dry!  Super fast drying time is a real bonus!
Things I don't love about the towel -
  • While the microfiber material is what makes the towel super absorbent, fast drying and compact, it is also not super plush and comfy like a regular towel. I found it difficult to glide the towel over my body to dry off, and instead I had to pat dry.  Which is fine!  It's just not what I'm used to. That's basically the only thing I didn't like. So, that's pretty good!

I received the towel in the color "Sanibel Sunrise," a pale yellow. But they have a good variety of colors such as pink, blue, green and purple.

The price varies from $19.99 to $24.99, depending on the color.  A bit more expensive than a regular towel. But then again, it's not a regular towel. I searched Amazon for a few other microfiber towels of the same size, and their price is right on point.

So, I'd definitely recommend this product!  The compactness of it is a major bonus for me.  And so is the drying time.  I'm not going to go so far as to say I'm replacing all of my towels with microfiber towels, but next time I'm in need of more towels in my house, I will be trying another one of these first.

And, YOU*** have a chance to try one out yourself!!!  Aurorae Aqua wants to send one of my readers a towel in the color of their choice (pending availability)!!! It's SO EASY to enter! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post about why you'd like to try the Aurorae Aqua Sport and Swim Towel. That's it!

The giveaway ends on Sunday, March 6th at 8pm. I'll announce the winner all my social media, so make sure you're following (links in the sidebar)!!!  Feel free to share and GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi there,

Let me tell you about the mistake I made this weekend!

I was SO excited to have been invited to my first real blogger event. I've been invited to a few parties for a jewelry and fashion line, but those weren't blogger-only parties. This event was being thrown to celebrate Chinese New Year.  Each blogger was going to be given a $100 gift card and 2 hours to shop. Then we were to come back for lunch and show each other what we bought with our money. How cool is that??? They were going to pay me to shop!!! That's my kind of event! I was SO EXCITED!!!! So, I invited my friend and fellow blogger, Melissa, to come along to this event. Because, free money!

Well, here's where it went wrong - I apparently didn't read the email properly.

I shop at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago a LOT. They are only 10 minutes from my house and there are a lot of my favorite stores there - Forever 21, Gap, Vince Camuto, Saks,  Bloomies...There's always something to buy there! So, when I opened the email and saw "Chicago Premium Outlets," well, I guess I just saw "Chicago" and "Outlets" and made an assumption. And boy was I wrong. The Fashion Outlets are in Rosemont, but the Chicago Premium Outlets are in Aurora, 45 MINUTES AWAY! (I used to shop there a lot also before I had kids because I don't mind the drive. But now that I'm never on my own, it's just too far. I haven't been there in about 2 years now.)

Would you believe neither of us even realized that we were at the wrong location until we were already there???? Jeez. By that time, it was too late to possibly make it to the event.  So, we both missed out on a fun chance to shop and also a great networking opportunity. Oh well. Hopefully there will be more events soon.

And even though we didn't get to shop on the mall's dime, we still took the opportunity to shop around. I'll take any opportunity to shop without my kiddos (or husband!) rushing me! LOL! And, Melissa is an awesome lifestyle and wedding photographer. She'd brought her camera along and was kind enough to snap some photos for me.
I loved my outfit that day! I wanted to wear something that would stand out just a little bit. My tunic is from Torrid. I'm just loving the totally buttoned up look these days! My jeans are from Forever 21 (I wear them all the time) and my shoes are by Guess, but bought at Ross (which I LOVE for shoes! I hate paying for shoes!!!)

My lip color is Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vintage. It's been a while since I wore this particular color,  but I really love a purple lip! Purple is for sure my go-to bright color. I applied this lip color at 9:45am, in my car on the way to the event. I made a SnapChat video to show that I went to bed after 11:45pm that night, hadn't reapplied, and that lip color was still ON!!! (I forgot to save the video, and if you are on SnapChat, you know it's already disappeared!) It was crazy! I love the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks! They can be drying, but moisturize beforehand and apply a little lip balm on top throughout the day and you'll be just fine.
Anyway...

Hopefully I'll be able to come back to tell you all about another Blogger event soon!  In the meantime, keep following for more random nonsense :)  And, thanks Melissa for joining me that day and for taking these awesome photos!!!  If you need a photographer in Chicago, be sure to check her out HERE!

Until next time,

xoxo

The Glam Mom Tests: Irresistible Me Hair Extensions

This product was sent to me for review by

Hi there,

It's been a while since I did a "The Glam Mom Tests" post.  I'm really having a hard time keeping up with blogging, but I'm trying to find more time to squeeze it in.  Baby is eating lunch right now, so I'm gonna squeeze this post out as fast as possible!

Irresistible Me was kind enough to send me a set of hair extensions for review and I've given them a GOOD testing and, in all honesty, I LOVE THEM!

I made an unboxing and first impressions video (below) to give them a quick test, and they didn't disappoint.  At all.

I was sent their Silky Touch Hair Extensions in Chocolate Brown. The length is 20" and the volume is 200gm. The video will give you the most detail but here are a few important points of these particular extensions:
  • They are 100% Remy Human Hair Extensions
  • They can be very easily washed, heat styled, cut and colored to blend with your hair perfectly.
  • The thickness of the hair decreases slightly towards the ends just like normal hair does which will provide a completely natural look while wearing them.
I took a before and after photo for you to see the difference these extensions make on me.
Before
After
I LOVE the added length and thickness.  I also love that they don't shed a whole lot. My own hair sheds enough! These pieces held a curl great for me and the texture and color are PERFECT!

Overall, I'm so, so, so impressed with these Irresistible Me Hair Extensions! I definitely recommend them as a great, reasonably priced brand for anyone who wants to add a bit of drama to their natural hair.  They are super easy to use and look great!

Here are a few more photos of me wearing the extensions:
This was taken the afternoon I made the video. They look awesome! And look - They are still curled!
I took these extensions on my trip to New Jersey to attend my grandmother's funeral and my cousins told me they didn't even realize I was wearing clip ins!  They really do look great! And my husband loves them!

Watch the video below to see a more thorough review of them:
