Veteran's Day

 Hello there!

First off, Happy Veteran's Day. THANK YOU to ALL who have served our contry! I am grateful for the freedoms that you fight to protect.

I work for the court system and courts were closed today. I got to loaf around and have lunch with my husband without having to arrange for a babysitter, which hasn't happened for a long time.

We decided to outsource our laundry ($$$$ OMG!) and we had lunch at Tavern on Rush - our usual.

Just wanted to share my cute shoes and bag! I got this bag a few months ago when we were going to the Field of Dreams game. I learned the hard way going into a stadium and they wouldn't allow my bag, so I figured a smaller clear bag would be the best option to bring along to sporting events from now on. I got this Kurt Geiger bag from Nordstrom. I had to drive 40 miles to get this bag because it was sold out in most places, but it was worth it LOL! But guess what? I never took the bag into the event! Because I was told no bags were allowed at all! So I left it in the car and shoved as much as I could in my husbands pants pockets. BUT THEN!!!! I got to the gate and saw all the other women had purses!!! I was so mad!!! But the trek back to the car would have been too much - we got lucky and caught a ride on a golf cart! So I just saved the bag and used it later. Going to Will Smith last night was another perfect opportunity to use it. The security guard at the gate thanked me for making his job easy LOL

I treated myself to these sneakers for my birthday last week. I'm not super into sneakers and it takes a special pair to get me to put out more than $20. I love the platform on these! I was buying my son sneakers at Famous Footwear and saw these and just had to have them. But SURPRISE! They didn't have my size. It's hard to find size 11s in store. But they ordered them for me and I got them 3 days later, which was cool.

I linked the sneaks below. Sadly, this purse is sold out so I linked a bunch of other Kurt Geiger bags I've had to resist buying in the widget below. Shop away!

Until next time,

xoxo

Pretty Eloquii Dresses

 Hi there!

I've been shopping A LOT! Partly because it was my birthday last week. Partly because I have gained weight and really can't fit in my clothes anymore 😭

I LOVE throwing on a dress for work. You always look put together in a dress (so long as it fits well!). Dresses are my go-to when I'm too lazy to think of anything else to wear. So I've linked a few of the dresses I've bought in the last few weeks for you below.

Some of these are sold out, but there is a waitlist - just add your email address and you'll be notified when it's back in stock!

Until next time,

xoxo

A Very Happy Birthday To Me

 Hi there,

It's been a while since I've written a personal post. I used to do this a lot but honestly, I just haven't had much to say in the last few years.

But today, I feel really happy to I'm going to express it.

I'll start with -

Today is my birthday. I'm 29 for the 13th year. I'll let you do the math. Hopefully you suck at math and give up.

I don't usually like to celebrate my birthday. In fact, in the last few years I'd prefer to be completely alone on this day and have even gone as far as taking my birthday off my Facebook page so no one would mention it. (It's back now, obviously lol!)

I don't like getting older. Mostly because I feel like I wasted my youth, so what is there to celebrate about a new year when the ones behind it feel worthless.

Many people would think that earning a graduate degree and marrying a wonderful man and having 3 awesome kids and a nice house and, not, a great job would be enough to fulfill someone. But in all honesty, those are not things I ever really dreamed of, so they've never felt fulfilling. Just bonus points for living life.

Don't get me wrong, I have a GREAT life. An amazing life, really. One that many people could only dream of. But I've felt unfulfilled for a long time. I've felt unsupported in my ventures for a long time. I've felt unappreciated for a long time. I've felt lonely for a long time. I've felt like I could leave and the only people who would miss me are my husband and kids.

But today, I got a new perspective.

My baby woke me up at 3:30am to wish me a happy birthday. And then again at 6am. And he was so tired, he fell asleep on the way to school. He wore himself out because he was too excited to wait to wish me a happy birthday. And I am grateful.

My kiddos surprised me with cards and candy and gifts and so much love this morning. And I am grateful.

My favorite people texted and called me this morning - my mom, my brother, my sister in law, my good friends. And I am grateful.

I got to work at my cubicle was decorated. Balloons and streamers and a card signed by my department and others. One of my employees gave me a gift - the soundtrack to 2 musicals we'd talked about that I've never listened to.

My boss threw a pizza party for me and got me a cake. I was shocked. My coworkers said he's never done this for anyone else. My employees said he's never bought them a cake and they've worked for him for 16 years.

I was overwhelmed. I cried. It was a lot of attention. I don't like for people to pay attention to me, especially on my birthday. As much as I enjoy performing, I don't actually like attention. I prefer for people to not notice me. I said out loud that I don't really enjoy my birthday so all this attention on it was overwhelming to me. And one of my coworkers said that I should be grateful for this birthday as after last year, many people didn't get to their next birthdays. We need to be grateful for the time we are given.

And he's right.

I haven't been grateful. I've been too busy dwelling on the negative - feeling unappreciated, when there are OBVIOUSLY people who appreciated me. Feeling lonely, when maybe not as alone as I thought. Maybe I've been too busy focusing on the negative that I haven't noticed that there are a lot of people who appreciate me and might just miss me if I was gone.

So today, I'm grateful. I still don't like my birthday. But I'm going to enjoy the rest of this day because people went WAY out of their way to make it special for me.

I will say this is probably the best birthday I've had in a lot of years.

And I'm grateful.

Until next time,

xoxo

BooHoo Birthday Haul

 Hi there!

My birthday is coming up, so I've treated myself to some fun treats! One being a GUCCI BELT! I've wanted one for years but just couldn't justify spending $500-$700. But, this year, I've worked super hard and decided to treat myself. I def EARNED  it! The one I got is linked HERE. It's GORGEOUS!!!

FYI - I got a size 100. I am a size 16/18 and it fits great! I'd originally ordered a 110, but it was far too, big, which I was surprised about. Thanks Gucci, for making us big girls feel included!

I also went all out on BooHoo and got myself a ton of new stuff. I've only received half of it so far, but everything fits great, like usual. That's why I stick with BooHoo. Because it just works for me.

All the pieces I got are linked below. Try them out! I 'm sire you'll LOVE them!

Until next time,

xoxo

Fashion Nova and Eloquii Haul

 Hey there!

Back with another haul video! This one is a bit outdated because I forgot about it!

Back in June, I went to work 2 days in Madison, Wisconsin for Duluth Trading. As I was walking out to leave, I had 2 packages I hadn't opened so I grabbed them and brought them along. I figured,  if I was bored in my hotel room, I could look through them.  I ended up being so glad I brought them because it was HOT and I didn't pack appropriately at all!

My husband and kids drove up to spend the 2 days with me. After work, I met them for dinner and hanging out and I didn't have anything to wear that wasn't sweatpants and long sleeves. I figured there would be something wearable in the packages.

So, I figured I'd do and unboxing/try-on before I left. Then, I forgot I made it until today while cleaning out my phone. My phone is FULL so I'm being forced to delete so much stuff!

I edited this real quick so I could post it and delete lol!

Most of these pieces are still available! Here's a list from Eloquii.

I'll add Fashion Nova in a bit!

Let me know what you think of these pieces!

Until next time,

xoxo

Glam or Slam: Falscara Review

Hi there!

It's been a few months! I always say I'm going to write here regularly, but it's so hard!

Anyway, I want to share a product I finally tried - Kiss Falscara Lash Extensions.

I bought this kit a few months ago but forgot about it! I finally gave it a chance last weekend and was pleasantly surprised.

This starter kit comes with a set of lashes, an applicator and the Falscara bond and seal adhesive.

The lashes are split into 5 sections, all the same width and length. You don't have to use them all. The first day I used them I used all 5, the next day I only used 4. Yes, they are reusable!

They are actually really easy to use.

You apply the  "bond" adhesive to your lashes like mascara and simply pop the lashes on UNDER  you natural lashes. I've never done this before, but it was easier than I thought it would be.  I ended up ditching the applicator - it was easier for me to use my fingers.

I did put one lash section on crooked. I just left it that way - it didn't look that bad.

You can see it here.  It did leave a little gap, but it didn't really bother me. The next day I was able to get them on straight!

The "bond" is sticky, so you have to use the "seal" to set the lashes. Again, just apply like mascara.

I didn't really know if these were temporary or not, so I slept in them and when I woke up I quickly realized they were meant to come off before bed time LOL! They were all bent and stuck to my eye lid. BUT! They popped right off and reshaped with no trouble. I took a shower and put them right back on for my morning photoshoot. That 2nd night, I actually removed them by simply swiping a q-tip with liquid remove across the bottom of my lashes and the wisps popped off so easy, with no damage to my natural lashes. I watched in my magnifying mirror to be sure.

The bond is difficult to get off your lashes though. This product does have it's own remover, but I didn't know that until after the fact. I used wipes, liquid remover and soap and water and my lashes were still sticky the next day. 2 days after though, they were back to normal.

This is a nice product! It doesn't take long to put them on once you get the hang of it. I love that its reusable. And I think they looked REALLY natural! I do wish they didn't need to be reapplied daily. A longer lasting adhesive would be nice. But there are other products on the market that do that. This is great for what it is though!

I think it's affordable, especially since it's reusable. I just grabbed this kit at Walgreens one day and I will probably grab a refill set next time I go, now that I know I like it.

Glam or Slam? This is def a Glam! Check out the How To video from Kiss HERE, and buy a set for yourself HERE.

Until next time,

xoxo

Yesterday I checked out the Womanish Experience with my friend Melissa.

It's similar to other pop ups and fun for creating content, although the lighting is pretty terrible.

I'm tired and still in bed, so I'll just share some photos. It's pretty self-explanatory 🤣

Shein Kids Haul!

 Hi there!

I'm behind in the shopping game. I only realized, after shopping for myself on Shein for about 2 years, that they have kids clothes! So I ordered a few things for my babies and they LOVE EVERYTHING!!! Even my boys!

My daughter wanted to try a try-on video like I do, so we did it as a TikTok and she KILLED it! So here it is for your viewing pleasure!

And I've liked all the kids pieces below.

They fit really well! And are so cute and stylish. AND AFFORDABLE!!! Kids grow out of their clothes so fast. Why spend a ton of money? This may be my new go-to for them!

I obvs bought myself a ton of stuff also! So here, is a listing of those too, if you want to try them. The pink and turquoise leopard sweater is my absolute fave and I've already worn it twice LOL!

Do you love Shein? Link me your fave pieces in the comments!

Until next time,
