The Glam Mom Tests - Kenra's Platinum Line

Hi there!
I'm so late with this review, OMG.
So I'm just gonna get to it.

I was sent these products by Kenra Professional and I was happy to test out a few more products from this line, because I've used a few before and one of them is one of my favorite, favorite hair products!

I reviewed Kenra's Snail CC Cream last year. You can read that HERE.

Just to recap, Snail Essence is a highly concentrated blend of proteins proven to awaken the youth in hair by fighting all 10 signs of aging hair -
Dulling
Thinning
Breakage
Frizz
Dryness
Elasticity
Porosity
Scalp irritation
Unmanageability
Coarse Texture

I use the snail cream before I blow dry. I'll be honest I haven't noticed a real difference, but I do only wash once a week and my hair is very damaged from bleach. But it's definitely not hurting, so I will keep using it!

Now, THIS PRODUCT HERE! I'm obsessed with it!!! It was actually not sent to me - I bought it at the recommendation of a mom in one of my mom groups. I've been meaning to share this for sooooo long, but I'm actually the worst at blogging so...
I have really thick, kind of coarse hair, so blow drying can take a looooong time. This Kenra Blow Dry Spray works as a heat protectant, but also states that it will cut your drying time in half. And, seriously, IT WORKS!!! It is a bit oily, but I have dry hair so I don't mind that. And even if I did, the time it cuts down from blowdrying would make it worth it! TRY THIS!!!

OK - now on to the products I was actually sent to try out.

When it comes to shampoo, I rarely have a complaint. You can't really mess up soap, right?

The conditioner actually works well in my hair, detangles, leaves a good amount of slip so I can comb though it easily.

I've been using both of these for a few weeks and I have no complaints. BUT the scent could be off-putting to some. It's very perfume-y. It doesn't leave a fresh, clean scent to your hair. It leaves you smelling like you literally sprayed Chanel No. 5 into your hair. I actually LOVE it, but I'm not sure it's something that everyone would enjoy.
The Kenra Alcohol-Free Shaping Spray is actually very good hairspray! The hold IS Extra Firm, and I really like it! The scent is just like any regular hairspray, so no complaints there. I will keep using this - it works really well.

Last to discuss is Kenra's Heat Block Spray.
I found this product confusing. I originally just read Heat Block and thought it was a heat protectant so I blow dried my hair, sectioned it off to prep it for flat ironing and sprayed this on the section. Only to find it left my hair sticky and then I realized - it's not just heat protectant, but it's also hair spray!

This spray is enriched with bee propolis, a natural resin that forms a cast around the cuticle for heat protection. It's a quick-drying, high hold spray that is supposed to give a clean release from styling tools and provide heat protection up to 450°F.

I wasn't sure about this product. The idea of spraying hairspray on my hair BEFORE I heat style made me nervous, so I let it dry, brushed my hair until I felt like the product was out and then heat styled. I can't give you a real review on it because I was too afraid to try it on my hair.

A rep from Kenya clarified this product for me. She said "it is a 2 in 1 product: a Thermal Styling Spray and Hairspray. Therefore, it is designed for you to spray on your hair before you heat style, use your heat tool and then finish the style by spraying it all over for hold."

She said that since I have ethnic hair, this is an important for me to use to keep from damaging my hair and that and that I am using the proper heat styling tool, it will release clean.

I will give it a try next time I wash and update how it works.
Overall, I like this line a lot!!! I will keep using it for sure! You can get it at Ulta or Kenra Professional directly.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you try it out for yourselves!

Until next time,

xoxo
